GRENADA, Miss. — Holmes Community College welcomes Cassidy Garrett Williamson as a police officer with the Campus Police Department on the Grenada Campus, where he will help provide a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff and visitors.
Williamson brings years of military and law enforcement experience to Holmes. He proudly served as an infantryman with the 82nd Airborne Division, completing two combat deployments to Iraq. Following his military service, he joined the Grenada Police Department, where he served in a variety of roles, including patrol officer, field training officer, supervisor and reporting agency coordinator. Throughout his career, he has completed extensive training in criminal justice, leadership, emergency response and crisis intervention and remains committed to continuing his professional development.
A Grenada native, Williamson said he was drawn to Holmes because it offers the opportunity to continue serving his community while building positive relationships with students, faculty and staff.
“I’m looking forward to getting to know the students, faculty and staff while helping provide a safe environment where everyone can succeed,” Williamson said. “I also hope to build positive relationships across campus and become someone students know they can approach whenever they need help.”
Outside of work, Williamson enjoys spending time with his wife, Kassie, and their two daughters, Leah and Avery. Much of the family’s free time is spent at the softball field, where he enjoys coaching and supporting his daughters’ competitive teams.
One interesting fact about Williamson is that he completed airborne training and jumped from airplanes during his service with the 82nd Airborne Division.
