RIDGELAND, Miss. — Holmes Community College welcomes Corrie Torrent as an art instructor on the Ridgeland Campus.
Torrent earned both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Education in Art Education from Mississippi College. Prior to joining Holmes, she taught sixth-grade art at Madison Middle School.
She has received numerous honors throughout her career, including being named Graduate Art Major of the Year at Mississippi College. She has also been recognized as a gallery artist for 3 Houses Studio and earned several awards through Mississippi College’s Competitive Showcase.
In addition to teaching, Torrent owns an art business where she travels to art shows to exhibit and sell her artwork.
“I am excited to join the Holmes family and look forward to inspiring students through creativity and artistic expression,” Torrent said.
Outside the classroom, Torrent enjoys baking, photography, playing games and interior decorating. She is a member of Grace City Church in Jackson.
Torrent and her husband, David, live with their dog, Tucker.
