Holmes to offer Heavy Equipment training program

GOODMAN, Miss. — Holmes Community College is offering a 14-week Heavy Equipment training program designed to provide students with hands-on, simulated work experience and training in the safe operation of heavy equipment.

The training will be taught by Keith Ware and will be held at Bulldog Ranch. Class size is limited.

The program will cover First Aid/CPR, orientation to the trade, heavy equipment safety, equipment essentials and site work.

Students will learn how to inspect, service and safely operate an off-road dump truck, tracked skid steer, bulldozer and track hoe. Training will also include the safe and proper operation of horizontal directional drill and trenching equipment used to install underground utilities.

The 14-week program is designed to provide students with practical skills and knowledge that can be applied in the heavy equipment and construction industries.
