Holmes Goodman Campus inducts 6 students into 2026-27 Hall of Fame

GOODMAN — Holmes Community College recently recognized six outstanding student leaders from the Goodman Campus with induction into the 2026-27 Holmes Hall of Fame, the college’s highest student honor.

Students selected for this distinction demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, service and a commitment to the Holmes community. For the Goodman Campus, honorees include Hayden Austin of Yazoo City, Elizabeth Beard of French Camp, Ally Moore of Kosciusko, SaraBeth Moore of Kosciusko, Madison Reyes of Kosciusko and Alli Sparks of Kosciusko.

Hayden Austin

The son of Gary and Lindsey Austin, he is a mechanical engineering major at Holmes. Austin is a recipient of the Holmes Plus Scholarship, Foundation scholarships, the Renaissance Bank Scholarship and the ACT President’s Scholarship. He is a member of Phi Theta Kappa. At Holmes, Austin serves as an Ambassador and Holmes Plus tutor. He also works as a McDaniel work-study student and serves as a campus project officer for Phi Theta Kappa. Off campus, Austin is an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Yazoo City, where he participates in Bible studies and serves as a Sunday usher. He also works as a landscaper for Wolf Lake Cut Flower Farm and assists with harvesting and processing pecans at Cypress Point Pecans. In his free time, Austin enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing and spending time with family and friends.

Elizabeth Beard

Beard, daughter of Glen and Karla Beard, is majoring in nursing at Holmes. She is a recipient of the Foundation Scholarship and ACT Scholarship and has a 3.8 GPA. Beard has been named to the President’s List and serves as president of Phi Theta Kappa. At Holmes, she is also involved in Connection!, Phi Theta Kappa and Concert Chorale. Beard is a member of Bethsaida Baptist Church. In her free time, she enjoys going on walks, babysitting, baking, spending time with friends and family and watching Christmas movies. After graduating from Holmes, Beard plans to attend nursing school to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She then plans to attend CRNA school with the goal of becoming a pediatric CRNA.

Ally Moore

Moore, daughter of Wade and Misty Moore, is a pre-nursing major at Holmes. She has maintained a 4.0 GPA while earning the Holmes Plus Scholarship, President’s Scholarship and Woodmen of the World Scholarship. She has also been named to the President’s List. At Holmes, Moore is a member of Holmes Plus, Phi Theta Kappa, Student Government Association, Baptist Student Union and serves as a Holmes Ambassador. She has also worked as a work-study student in the business office and biology department. Outside of Holmes, Moore is a member of Thomastown Baptist Church, where she serves as assistant worship leader and Vacation Bible School director. She also gives softball lessons and tutors children. After graduating from Holmes, Moore plans to attend the University of Mississippi Medical Center to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Her long-term goal is to become a nurse practitioner and use her education and career to serve others.

SaraBeth Moore

Moore, daughter of Destin and the late Lauren Moore and granddaughter of Tim and Sandra Cook, is a pre-nursing major. She has maintained a 4.0 GPA and has been named to the President’s List. She is also a recipient of the Foundations Scholarship and Dean Scholarship. At Holmes, Moore serves as an Ambassador and is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, Baptist Student Union and Student Government Association. She has also worked as a business office and biology department work-study student. Moore is a member of First Baptist Church in Kosciusko. During the summer, she worked at Lake Forest Ranch, a Christian summer camp for children, where she worked with children ages 6-8. She helped teach and care for the children while collaborating with staff and adult volunteers from Mississippi and surrounding states to provide a safe, supportive and encouraging environment. After graduating from Holmes, Moore plans to attend the University of Mississippi Medical Center to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Madison Reyes

Reyes, daughter of Ozie and Kenneth Ashford, is a pre-veterinary science major at Holmes. She has been named to the President’s and Dean’s lists and is a recipient of the W&M Thomas STEM Scholarship. At Holmes, Reyes is an active member of Student Support Services, Mosaic, Holmes Plus and Tri-Alpha. She also serves as vice president of Honors in Action for Phi Theta Kappa and tutors students at the STEM and Mosaic centers. Outside of Holmes, Reyes regularly volunteers at church, school and various club events. She also works part time at her local Walmart. After graduating from Holmes, Reyes plans to complete her bachelor’s degree in agriculture at Mississippi State University. She then plans to pursue a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Mississippi State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine.

Alli Sparks

Sparks, the daughter of Sonny and Courtney Sparks, is majoring in secondary education at Holmes. She has been recognized as a Freshman Beauty, Freshman Class Favorite, Freshman Cheer Award recipient and a Freshman Scholar-Athlete. She was also named to the Freshman Dean’s List, served as a Sophomore Homecoming Maid and is a cheerleading co-captain. In addition to cheer, she is a member of Phi Theta Kappa. Off campus, she works as a work-study student in the Holmes Foundation’s office and volunteers in the nursery at First Baptist Church Kosciusko. After graduating from Holmes, Sparks plans to attend Mississippi State University to continue pursuing a degree in education.

These exceptional students exemplify the core values of Holmes Community College through their commitment to academic excellence, leadership and service to their communities. The students will be recognized during halftime of the Homecoming game in celebration of their accomplishments. Holmes faculty, staff and administration congratulate these outstanding students and look forward to their continued success at Holmes and beyond.
