Student-athletes perform on field, classroom

Holmes Community College athletes not only performed well on the field this season, but also did outstanding work in the classroom with 71 being named scholar-athletes in the fall (3.4 GPA or higher), 60 in the spring and 63 for both fall and spring semesters with an overall GPA of 2.947.

Seventy-nine student-athletes graduated in May. Out of those, 70 have been nominated for the MACJC Academic All-State Team (13 for 3.8-4.0 GPA and 57 for 3.25-3.79 GPA) and 28 for the NJCAA Academic Team (6 for 4.0 GPA, 12 for 3.8-3.99 GPA and 10 for 3.6-3.79 GPA). Overall, Holmes ranked fourth out of the 15 Mississippi community colleges and second in the North with the number of MACJC All-State Academic Athletes.
