Holmes Community College recently announced members of the 2019 Homecoming Court.
Ridgeland Campus Homecoming Maids include: Student Body Maid Isabella Wade of Madison; Sophomore Maid Destiny Maxwell of Brookhaven; Sophomore Maid Brandi Palmer of Jackson; Freshman Maid Amanda Jacobs of Jackson and Freshman Maid Deja Sloan of Houston, Texas.
Isabella Wade, daughter of Rosilene and Morris Wade, is a graduate of Madison Central High School. She is a dental hygiene major who plays forward for the Lady Bulldogs Soccer Team. She is also a volunteer soccer coach at Mississippi Brilla FC, a member of St. Richard Catholic Church and works at Lulu Kabab. In her spare time, she enjoys running, playing soccer and drawing.
Destiny Maxwell, daughter of Barbara Rockingham, is a graduate of Germantown High School. A nursing major, she is a Student Government Association representative on the Ridgeland Campus. Outside of Holmes, she attends Word of Life Church and works at Primos Café. Maxwell enjoys dancing, listening to music and reading. Her goal is to eventually become a pediatric nurse.
Brandi Palmer, daughter of Darla and Don Palmer, is a graduate of Ridgeland High School. She is a pre-nursing major who plans to attend Alcorn State University next fall. On campus, she is a member of Phi Theta Kappa honor society and in her free time, she enjoys shopping, decorating, doing others' makeup and spending time with friends and family.
Amanda Jacobs, daughter of Rhoshunda and Tarus Jacobs, is a graduate of Forest Hill High School. A pre-dental major, she plans to continue her studies, graduate college and eventually move out of state to start a family of her own. She enjoys spending time with her family and loves being with her grandmother and spending times with her nieces.
Deja Sloan, daughter of Tekima Beamon, is a graduate of Germantown High School. She is a general studies major who is active on campus as an Ambassador, Student Government Association vice president and Horizons yearbook editor. Outside of Holmes, she is a manger for Planet Smoothie in Madison and serves as a content creator for a YouTube channel.
The queen and her court will be presented during halftime of the Bulldogs' Homecoming Game against Coahoma Community College on Thursday, Oct. 24, in Goodman. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
