On May 10, Holmes Community College held a pinning ceremony for the Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) Class of 2022 in the McGowan Workforce Training Center on the Ridgeland Campus. Eleven students graduated from the program.
The Class of 2022 includes Richard Bennett of Drew (class vice president), Ashley Daigle of Brandon, Kayla Daley of Terry, Megan Heard of Vicksburg (class treasurer), Robin Robinson of Washington, Charles Stewart of Pearl, Chelsea Taylor of Jackson, Ambra Watkins of Canton (class president), Adam Weaver of Kosciusko and Jessica Whitley of Clinton. The OTA instructors are D. Cade Montague, OTR/L, and Erica Fitzhugh, COTA/L.
The ceremony began with an introduction of the faculty, administration and students, followed by the ceremonial pinning of each graduate. Bennett led his classmates in reciting the Occupational Therapy Creed before Watkins stepped forward to make remarks on behalf of the Class of 2022.
Following Watkin’s address, Montage and Fitzhugh brought the ceremony to completion with closing remarks.
