Anna Brittain of Duck Hill has joined the Associate Degree Nursing staff as an ADN instructor on the Goodman Campus.
Brittain attended Holmes Community College before receiving her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Baptist College of Health Sciences in Memphis and a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
She still serves as an emergency room nurse at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Grenada and at Baptist Hospital in Calhoun City. She has spent the majority of her career working in the emergency room at Baptist-Desoto as a staff nurse before being named a clinical resource/charge nurse. She has been an adjunct teach for ADN in Grenada since 2021.
She is a member of Duck Hill Baptist Church and is a part of the women’s AGAPE group there.
Her hobbies are traveling, spending time on the family farm, attending church functions and reading. They have two cats (Salvatore and Frick) and three dogs (Oxford, Molly and Jack).
Brittain and her husband, Dwight, have one daughter, Addison. Her parents are Chris and Sheila Lea. Her siblings include: Adam and Amanda Lea with children, Ada, Faith, Nate and Hope; James and Ansley Lea; Chenoa and Rodney Hoyt; and Jennifer and Josh Montgomery with children, Jaelynn and Paxton.
“Holmes truly is a great place to work, and I am so blessed to call this my work home,” Brittain said. “I am blessed to have an amazing husband and family who have supported me through school and helped to get me where I am in my career. My time in the ER has shaped me into the nurse and now educator that I am today.”
