Holmes alumna Kailey Phillips returns to her alma mater as Ridgeland Campus nursing instructor

Holmes Community College welcomed alumna Kailey Phillips as an Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) instructor for the Ridgeland Campus. She earned her ADN degree at Holmes in 2013.

Following graduation from Holmes, Phillips obtained her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Chamberlain University in 2020. She is currently working on her master’s in nursing education at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, on track to graduate in the fall of 2024. Upon completing her master’s, she will begin working toward her doctorate in nursing.

Prior to her position at Holmes, Phillips worked for Batson’s Children’s Hospital for six years. Before Batson’s, she spent four years as a travel nurse and working at Greenwood Leflore Emergency Room.

“I am always involved in helping Children’s of Mississippi raise money through events such as Over the Edge with Friends,” Phillips said. “Throughout the years, I’ve provided toys and clothing to the children at Batson’s through various events/any donations I have been able to give.”

In her free time, Phillips enjoys reading for fun (when not reading for school), spending time with her children and painting and drawing.

Like his wife, Phillips’ husband Adam is a Holmes alumnus; he graduated from the Emergency Medical Science Paramedic Program in 2013. They have two daughters, Henley (6) and Harley (2).
