Ridgeland Campus court members include Student Body Maid Addison Chelsey Sawyer of Madison, Sophomore Maid Kamilah Millsap of Canton, Sophomore Maid Miracle McGee of Flowood, Freshman Maid Paris Garrett of Canton and Freshman Maid Sydney Ferguson Neely of Flowood.
Addison Sawyer is the daughter of Katresia and Earl Sawyer. She is a biological sciences major who is actively involved in the Student Government Association (SGA) and Phi Theta Kappa, where she advocates for students and engages in community service. Outside of school, she is dedicated to working with children to enrich their educational experiences and foster their academic development.
“In my free time I love volunteering in my community because it allows me to give back and connect with others,” Sawyer said. “I also enjoy crafting, whether it’s making decorations or handmade gifts. It’s a fun way to express my creativity.”
Sawyer plans to pursue medicine at University of Mississippi Medical Center, with the goal of specializing in ophthalmology. She looks forward to merging her passion for healthcare with a commitment to enhancing patients’ quality of life.
Miracle McGee of Madison is the daughter of Stacey Davis and Cedric McGee. She is a psychology major who enjoys socializing and going to coffee shops to study with friends she’s met at school. She likes to workout in her free time and is very active in church. Specifically, she enjoys running track and has been a runner her whole life.
“I plan on becoming a psychologist,” McGee said. “After graduating from Holmes with an associate degree, I have plans to nurse to help those I can all while expanding my education in psychology. I love studying the brain and acknowledging mental health and disorders. I want to help others become more in tune with understanding that the brain is the core of the apple.”
Kamilah Millsap is the daughter of Elois and Roger Jacobs. She is a social work/sociology major who enjoys going to the gym, babysitting and reading.
“After Holmes, I plan to earn a master’s degree in social work and hopefully a doctoral degree, as well.”
Paris Garrett is the daughter of Felicia Garrett and Rod Garrett. She is a general college studies major who plans to transfer to AMDA in Los Angeles, California, to study acting with the goal of becoming a successful actress.
Sydney Ferguson Neely is the daughter of Sherry Neely and Sean Neely. She is a pre-radiologic science major who enjoys baking, working, napping and traveling. Neely works as a pharmacy technician when not on campus.
“After graduating from Holmes, I plan to enroll in a two-year radiology program to become an x-ray tech,” Neely said.
The queen and her court will be presented during halftime of the Bulldogs’ Homecoming Game against East Mississippi Community College on Thursday, Oct. 31, in Goodman. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
