Turner elected president-elect of Mississippi Organization for Associate Degree Nursing

Alicia L. Turner, an Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) instructor on the Holmes Community College Ridgeland Campus, was recently elected president-elect of the Mississippi Organization for Associate Degree Nursing (MOADN), a significant achievement that reflects her dedication to nursing education and advocacy across the state.

Turner’s election was announced during MOADN’s annual convention, held April 9–10 in Tupelo. The event brought together more than 1,100 students, 166 faculty members and over 30 exhibitors, showcasing the strength and unity within Mississippi’s nursing education community.

MOADN serves as the leading voice for associate degree nursing education and the practice of registered professional nurses in Mississippi. The organization is committed to promoting excellence in ADN programs, supporting professional growth, and shaping the future of healthcare education and delivery. MOADN also advocates for the retention of the Registered Nurse title and scope of practice for ADN graduates, while fostering smooth transitions from ADN to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) pathways.

As president-elect, Turner plans to continue advancing MOADN’s mission by advocating for associate degree nurses and promoting initiatives that enhance nursing education and professional practice throughout the state.
