Doolittle named history instructor at Holmes Grenada Campus

Holmes Community College has named Kyle Doolittle as the new history instructor on the Grenada Campus. A Grenada native and graduate of Grenada High School, Doolittle brings a passion for education, community development, and Mississippi heritage to his new role.

Before joining Holmes, Doolittle spent the last three years working for Grenada School District in several roles. His most meaningful accomplishments include teaching state-tested U.S. History and dual credit history courses in partnership with Delta State University. He also played a key role in establishing the district’s “Fab Lab” — a STEAM initiative providing both mobile and site-based fabrication labs for students. In collaboration with Grenada High School and Holmes, he helped launch a dual credit Advanced Manufacturing course that bridges education and local industry needs.

Doolittle earned his Bachelor of Arts in General Studies from the University of Mississippi with emphases in history, sociology, and business. He later completed his Master of Arts in Military History at Southern New Hampshire University. Deeply rooted in local education, he serves on the University of Mississippi Grenada Alumni Advisory Council, helping expand the reach of the satellite campus that partners with Holmes.

His commitment to education extends beyond the classroom. Doolittle is vice president of the Friends of Chakchiuma Swamp at the Lee Tartt Nature Preserve in Grenada, an organization focused on outreach and environmental education.

Outside of work, Doolittle is a self-proclaimed car enthusiast. He and his wife, Megan Brock, a school counselor at Grenada High School, enjoy road tripping in their 1979 Mercedes. He can often be found turning wrenches on restoration projects with friends. Their son, Tom, is entering fifth grade this year and excels in both academics and archery.

Holmes is proud to welcome Doolittle to the faculty and looks forward to the impact he will make on students at the Grenada Campus.
