Stan Fisher has joined the Holmes Community College Ridgeland Campus staff as chief of police. Fisher brings more than two decades of law enforcement experience to Holmes. He earned a bachelor’s degree in administration of justice with a minor in business from Mississippi College.
“It is with great pleasure that we welcome Chief Stan Fisher to our Holmes family,” said Holmes Ridgeland Campus Vice President Dr. Bronwyn Martin. “We are blessed to have been able to employ a chief with such an outstanding record in law enforcement. The talent, skills and experience in community college public safety he brings to campus will foster continued growth within the district and among local agencies.”
Before joining Holmes, Fisher served as police chief for Hinds Community College’s Rankin Campus for seven and a half years. His career also includes working in the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office as a cyber crimes investigator and serving 10 years with the Madison County Sheriff’s Department as a deputy specializing in SWAT operations.
Outside of law enforcement, Fisher is an active member of Word of Life Church in Flowood, where he serves in security care, altar care and youth ministry. He and his wife, Leslie, host a small group in their home, as well. Leslie works for Deloach Family Clinic in Gluckstadt. Fisher has a daughter, Kaylin, a senior at Copiah Academy; three stepsons; two grandsons and a granddaughter.
“I felt God calling me to lead,” Fisher said. “I feel like I’m here for a dual reason; to be Holmes’ police chief but also to pour into these young people and show them the love of Christ. I’m excited about this next season of my life and plan to continue to be obedient to where God leads me.”
In his spare time, Fisher enjoys fishing.
