Holmes named ‘Best Place to Work’ in Madison County

RIDGELAND — Holmes Community College has been named “Best Place to Work” in the 2025–2026 Best of the Best awards, sponsored by Hometown Madison Magazine.

The honor, voted on by local residents, recognizes Holmes as a premier employer in Madison County and highlights the college’s continued commitment to fostering a positive, supportive and professional work environment. Holmes previously earned the title in 2015, and this year’s recognition reaffirms a decade-long dedication to its employees.

Representatives from the college attended the Red Carpet Gala on March 26, where winners were announced. Attending on behalf of Holmes were Ridgeland Campus Police Chief Stan Fisher, Multimedia Specialist Stephanie Wood, Graphic Designer Maggie Robinson, Student Activities Director Jordan Heflin and Workforce Development Coordinator Melissa Love.

For many employees, the award reflects what they have long experienced within the institution’s workplace culture.

“Having served Holmes since 2006, I can speak firsthand about why we are blessed to be employed by the best place to work in Madison County,” said Ridgeland Campus Vice President Dr. Bronwyn Martin. “I’ve served the college in four different roles, and I’ve spent most of my professional life here.”

The employee added that the recognition affirms the college’s reputation for creating a personable and authentic environment, often described by its slogan, “No Place Like Holmes.”

“It is validating to know our community recognizes our personable, unique and authentic work environment,” Dr. Martin said.

The annual Best of the Best awards recognize businesses and organizations across Madison County for excellence in service, workplace culture and community impact.
