SENATOBIA — Holmes Community College students recently showcased their talent at the Mississippi Community College Creative Writing Association Annual Workshop and Contest, held April 10 at Northwest Mississippi Community College.
Representing the Goodman Campus were Mikayla Tew, Abigail Glazier, Daniela Lewis, Jakeria Williams and Ceketha Herndon. The group earned several honors at the competition.
Herndon placed third in the literary essay category, while Tew earned third place in poetry. Glazier received honorable mention in poetry.
Anne Hall Adams, representing the Grenada Campus, also earned second place in the literary analysis essay category.
English instructors Chad Moorer and Dr. Amber Mabus accompanied the students to the event.
The annual workshop and contest brings together community college students from across the state to compete and showcase their creative writing skills.
