RIDGELAND, Miss. — Holmes Community College Engineering Technology students on the Ridgeland Campus achieved a 100% pass rate on the Autodesk Certified User: AutoCAD 2026 certification examination, with four students earning perfect scores on their first attempt.
Students earning a perfect score included Cade Germany, Deja Wheaton, Brayam Morales-Vasquez and Riane Pearson. Additional students who successfully completed the exam included Will Barker, Chris Morrow, Cadence Neal, Karsyn Pauline, Tucker Richmond and Alyree Williams.
“After spending a full year working with these students, I’m continually impressed by the growth they demonstrate—from where they begin to where they ultimately finish,” said Engineering Technology instructor Heather Mooney Hale. “I am incredibly proud of this group and all they have accomplished. In terms of CAD certification, I’ve only had one student achieve a perfect score in the past, so to see four students reach that milestone this year is truly remarkable.”
The Autodesk AutoCAD certification validates students’ foundational skills in computer-aided design and supports career readiness in drafting, engineering, architecture and industrial technology fields.
The Engineering Technology Department at Holmes offers six areas of concentration: architectural engineering technology, construction technology, drafting and design, industrial engineering management technology, industrial technology and interior design technology. Each area leads to an Associate of Applied Science degree, with some programs also offering a technical certificate and/or advanced technical certificate.
