RIDGELAND, Miss. — Holmes Community College celebrated the graduation of its third cohort of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Information Infrastructure Pre-Apprenticeship (I2PA) program on Friday, June 26, recognizing 18 graduates who completed the intensive workforce training program.
The third cohort completed the program from June 1-26, gaining foundational knowledge and hands-on experience in information infrastructure, cloud technology concepts and career opportunities within the technology industry.
The graduates included Avian Berry, Austin Boarden, Lawrence Brantley, Jordan Broadway, Charles “Trey” Brown, Kelly Burris, Charisse Curtis, Joshua Dunson, Connor Green, Devin Hawkins, Kevan Johnson, Lovdai Poindexter, Dylan Prater, Jacob Schmelzer, James Turner, Gregory Williams, Tyrin Williams and Zechariah “Zack” Young.
The AWS I2PA program is designed to provide participants with skills and experiences that prepare them for careers in the growing information technology field. Through the program, students explore industry-recognized technology concepts, develop workforce skills and gain insight into potential career pathways.
Holmes launched the AWS I2PA program to help meet workforce demands by providing students with access to high-quality technology training and opportunities for career advancement. The program continues to connect students with skills needed for success in today’s evolving workforce.
Following the graduation ceremony, graduates participated in a networking event where they had the opportunity to connect with industry professionals, celebrate their accomplishments and explore future opportunities in the technology sector.
