Each year, the Grenada Campus holds a Creative Writing Contest. All winners receive cash prizes furnished by the Holmes Foundation. First and second place winners are forwarded to the Mississippi Community College Creative Writing Association contest and will be published in Holmes’s Creative Writing Journal, Reflections.

Holmes Community College registration for the 2018 summer and fall terms will begin on April 3.

Holmes Community College will hold Bulldog Cheer Squad tryouts on Thursday, March 22, at 3 p.m. in Branch Coliseum on the Goodman Campus.

Holmes Community College will hold Connection! and choral group auditions on Monday, March 26, at 5:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Building on the Goodman Campus.

Holmes Community College will hold color guard and drum major auditions on April 14 at 1 p.m. in the Band Hall on the Goodman Campus.

Slade Allgood of Carthage, a sophomore on the Holmes Community College Ridgeland Campus, has been named a 2018 Coca-Cola Academic Team Gold Scholar and will receive a $1,500 scholarship.

On Friday, March 2, the Holmes Community College Mathematics Department hosted the Annual Mississippi Council of Teachers of Mathematics (MCTM) District Junior High Math Competition for area seventh and eighth grade students in the Joe A. Adams Student Center on the Ridgeland Campus. Participating schools included: Benton Academy, Durant Public School, Germantown Middle School, Madison Middle School, McAdams Middle, Saint Andrews, Shirley D. Simmons Middle and Tri-County Academy.

Georgia Watkins of West was named 2018 Most Beautiful in Holmes Community College’s Beauty Review pageant held Feb. 27 on the Goodman Campus.
