Angie Williams has joined the Holmes Community College family as the receptionist and administrative assistant to the Ridgeland Campus vice president.
Williams is a social worker by trade and has spent most of her career working in child welfare. She has worked for the Department of Human of Human Services at the county and state level and most recently worked as a social work consultant with AdoptUSKids.
“For the last four years, I have been a full-time mom,” Williams said. “My younger children are older teens now and do not need my attention and support in the same way. It was the right time for me to go back to work, and while I’m not interested in going back to a career in social work, I still want to feel like I’m contributing to my community and making a difference. Holmes Community College seemed like the perfect place to do that.”
Williams holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi and a master’s degree from The University of Alabama. Both degrees are in social work with a concentration in planning and administration. She is also lifelong United Methodist and a member of Parkway Hills United Methodist Church in Madison.
Williams and her husband, Roger, met at Ole Miss. He is an attorney at Watkins & Eager in Jackson, and they have three children. The Williams’ oldest daughter, Allie Kate, works in the development office at The Mississippi Children’s Museum and is engaged to be married on Feb. 1, 2025.
“We are so excited to welcome her fiancé, Charlie, to the family,” Williams said.
The Williams’ son, Gregory, is a senior at Madison Central High School, and their other daughter, Lexi, works at McAlister’s in Madison. They also have two dogs, a cat and a guinea pig.
“My doodle, Murphy, is everyone’s favorite, but he loves me the most,” Williams said.
In her free time, Williams loves books and puzzles. Specifically, she loves reading young adult and sci-fi novels. She also enjoys playing Wordle, Spelling Bee and most of the other New York Times games. She stays busy planning her daughter’s wedding, as well.
“I am thrilled to be a part of the Holmes CC family,” Williams said. “After all, there really is ‘No Place like Holmes.’”
