Ashley Broyles named Holmes’ Director of Financial Aid

Ashley Broyles has been named Holmes Community College’s new director of financial aid. Broyles has been employed with the college for over 12 years, working as a financial aid advisor, assistant to the director and then assistant director before her recent promotion.

Prior to Holmes, Broyles worked for BankFirst Financial Services as a commercial loan assistant and a mortgage lender, and for Merchants & Farmers Bank as a commercial loan assistant and real estate loan reviewer. A Holmes alumna, she earned an Associate of Arts from the college in 2020 before earning a bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University in 2023.

Broyles and her husband Chris, who is a USPS Postmaster in Benton, have two children. Bryce (23) graduated from Holmes with an A.A.S. in Industrial Engineering Technology and Architectural Engineering Technology. He is now working at McMasters & Associates in Madison. Kaitlyn (19) is currently attending Holmes and majoring in Architectural Engineering Technology. The Broyles attend Main Street Baptist Church, Goodman. In her free time, Broyles enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.

“I love working at Holmes Community College,” Broyles said. “I have enjoyed the past 12 years and have made this my home. The assistance we give to students in the financial aid office makes the long days worthwhile. I enjoy helping with Freshman Fridays, Homecoming and graduation ceremonies. I think my favorite day of the year is graduation. I love getting to see the students we have assisted get to walk across the stage and receive their diplomas. It may not seem like much, but seeing the smiles on the students’ faces when they graduate means the world to me.”
