Audra Dean of Kosciusko has returned to the Holmes Community College Goodman Campus as an accounting, economics and business instructor. She originally worked for the college from 1990-2004, serving in a number of roles over the years. She served as director of distance learning, as chairman of the Business Administration Department, as an instructor (both face-to-face and online), as cheerleader coach and as the women’s tennis coach.
Dean returns to Holmes with over 31 years of experience in community college instruction and administration in both the public and for-profit sectors. Most recently, Dean served as the assistant executive director for academic & student affairs for the Mississippi Community College Board (MCCB) in Jackson. Prior to her most recent position, Dean served as assistant executive director for eLearning & instructional technology at MCCB. She also served as president of Antonelli College Online, and owned and operated Creative Occasions Catering Company in Goodman before she ventured into the field of higher education.
Dean holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in accountancy from the University of Mississippi and has completed graduate work in economics at the University of Mississippi and Mississippi State University. She also holds a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Administration (ABD status) from Delta State University.
Dean is part of the Mississippi Higher Education in Prison Consortium Steering Committee, a member of the Education Achievement Council, a member of Women in Higher Education Mississippi Network, served on the Mississippi Governor’s Education Human Capital Task Force from 2020-2021, serves as a commissioner for the Mississippi Commission on College Accreditation (MCCA) and was a founding member of the Mississippi Community College Leadership Academy Alumni Association, just to name a few of her professional affiliations.
In her free time, she enjoys yard work and entertaining. She has three children: Sidney Kimble, intramural and fitness center coordinator on the Holmes Goodman Campus; Meredith Dean, a freshman at Holmes in Goodman and Clark Dean, a junior at Mississippi State University.
