Academic and technical students with exemplary quality point averages are recognized at the end of the fall and spring semesters by being named to the President’s or Dean’s list. To be eligible for such recognition a student must be enrolled in at least twelve semester hours.

Foundation holds annual golf tournament at Deerfield

The Holmes Community College Development Foundation, Inc. Golf Classic was held on Wednesday, May 8, at Deerfield Golf Club in Madison. Registration and lunch began at 11 a.m., began at noon and a social was held immediately following the completion of play.

Holmes Community College held its 91st commencement exercises on May 10 in Frank Branch Coliseum on the Goodman Campus. The ceremony for Goodman and Grenada campuses and the Attala Center was held at 10 a.m. The ceremony for the Ridgeland Campus and the Yazoo City location was held at 2 p.m.

Coleman named president of state surgical technology association

Coleman named president of state surgical technology association

Travia Shea Coleman, the surgical technology instructor on the Holmes Community College Ridgeland Campus, was elected president of the Mississippi State Assembly of Surgical Technology. Coleman was elected president on Feb. 22, and will serve in this role until 2021. Previously, Coleman served as vice president for two years and on the board of directors for two years.
