CF Industries Foundation Scholarship created to benefit students in industry-related fields

The Holmes Community College Development Foundation is pleased to announce the creation of the CF Industries Foundation Scholarship to benefit Holmes Community College students in industry-related fields.

“CF Industries Foundation is passionate about supporting charitable initiatives in local communities,” CF Industries Senior Director of Corporate Communications Chris Close said. “Given its strong presence and impact in Holmes and the surrounding counties, the CF Industries Foundation explored a scholarship program with Holmes Community College, and starting this Fall two students will be selected by the Holmes Community College Development Foundation to be recipients of the CF Industries Foundation Scholarship.”

The CF Industries Foundation Scholarship will help prepare students for careers in high-demand fields and enable them to achieve both their educational and occupational goals. The scholarship will focus on students enrolled in the following programs, among others: Agricultural Sciences, Industrial Engineering Management Technology, Industrial Maintenance Technology, and Industrial Technology. Students should demonstrate a financial need and be from a Delta County to include the counties of Madison and Hinds. Freshman students must have a minimum high school GPA of 2.5 and sophomores must maintain a GPA of 2.0.

CF Industries Foundation was established by its corporate founder, CF Industries, in late 2022 and focuses on environmental sustainability, healthy food access, STEM education and awareness and local community advancement. CF Industries is the world’s largest producer of ammonia with a mission to provide clean energy to feed and fuel the world sustainably. CF Industries is focused on safe and reliable operations, environmental stewardship, and disciplined capital and corporate management and is on a path to decarbonize its ammonia production network – the world’s largest – to enable green and low-carbon hydrogen and nitrogen products for energy, fertilizer, emissions abatement and other industrial activities.

CF Industries has locations throughout the United States including Yazoo City along with Canada and the United Kingdom which has “an unparalleled storage, transportation and distribution network in North America, and logistics capabilities enabling a global reach underpin its strategy to leverage its unique capabilities to accelerate the world’s transition to clean energy.”
