Dorm students asked to check room status

Dorm students asked to check 2015 room status

Housing officials announced today that some Fall students who've requested dorm rooms may have to forfeit their rooms if they do not meet the class hour requirement by July 31, 2015.

To be eligible for dorm rooms at Holmes Community College, academic students must be enrolled in at least 15 or more hours and career-technical students must be enrolled in at least 12 hours.

Holmes currently has 150 female students and 90 male students on a waiting list for student housing, according to Director of Student Housing Terry Fancher.

"All students have been given sufficient time to secure a proper schedule," Fancher said. "We have tried to reach all students affected by phone and have sent this notice by email."

All dormitories on the campus of Holmes Community College in Goodman will officially open for students to begin staying overnight at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 16. Residents will be allowed to move their belongings during the week of Aug. 10-14 but will not be allowed to stay until Aug. 16. You must have a student ID picture taken before moving in. You can get one at the Lorance Student Center.

Attala Hall and Cook Hall residents must report to the Student Housing Office to pick up their room keys and dorm IDs while residents of Yazoo, Grenada, Motel, Choctaw and Webster Halls must report to their respective dorms to pick up their room keys and dorm IDs.

For more information or to inquire on your room status, please contact the Student Housing Office at (662) 472-9001 or e-mail Fancher at tfancher@holmescc.edu.
