Dunn Utility Products creates Foundation Scholarship for CTE students

The Holmes Community College Development Foundation is pleased to announce the creation of the Dunn Utility Products Scholarship to benefit career-technical students at Holmes Community College.

The patronage scholarship should be awarded to full-time students pursuing a technical education certificate or degree in a manufacturing related field. The student should have and maintain a 2.0 GPA with preference being given to students participating in internships with Dunn Utility Products.

Dunn was established in 1878 and has multiple companies across the Southeast including MMC Materials, Bayou Concrete, Dunn Road Builders, Dunn Construction, Dunn Real Estate, Civil Contractors, West TN Readymix, Huey P Stockstill, and Dunn Utility Products as the newest company being established in 2019 with operations in Byram and New Albany.

“The intent is to provide an opportunity for a student who may otherwise experience a hardship or for someone who shows interest in a career in the technology/manufacturing industries,” said Dunn’s Mark McCormick, who is a Winona High School, Holmes Community College and Mississippi State University graduate (industrial technology). He started working at MMC Materials in 2000.

“We chose Holmes Community College for their Industrial Technology programs and their commitment to prepare students with the skills they need for tomorrow’s workforce,” said McCormick.

The Dunn Utility Products Scholarship is open to gifts from persons, estates and organizations. To donate to the Dunn Utility Products Scholarship, please send donations to the Holmes Development Foundation, P.O. Box 527, Goodman, MS  39079.
