Financial education boot camp set for Oct. 4 Holmes Community College will host a Mississippi Community Financial Access Coalition (MCFAC) financial education training boot camp on Tuesday, Oct. 4, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. in the Vocational-Technology Building on the Goodman Campus.
Sponsored by Holmes County Bank and Trust Company, GuarantyBank, Mississippi State University Extension Service, Money Smart, and Renasant Bank, this workshop is for those who need to start a banking account, need help with their credit, want to learn how to budget, want to learn how to start saving and investing, prepare for home ownership, prepare to own a small business and/or learn about wealth-building opportunities. The boot camp will introduce participants to a five-week standardized curriculum program that will help them get their finances on track, reduce their debt, start saving, learn how to establish or re-establish credit, and identify financial tools and community resources.
In addition to the financial education information, there will also be refreshments and door prizes.
