Grenada Campus announces Creative Writing Contest winners Pictured are (left to right) Jordan Bishop and Peyton Poe, both of whom won awards in the Grenada Campus Creative Writing Contest. Each year, the Holmes Community College Grenada Campus holds a Creative Writing Contest. All winners receive cash prizes furnished by the Holmes Foundation. First and second place winners are forwarded to the Mississippi Community College Creative Writing Association contest and will be published in Holmes' Creative Writing Journal, "Reflections."

Winners of the Poetry category were: First Place, "Kitchen Mouse" by Peyton Poe of Brandon and Second Place, "The Graveyard" by Jordan Bishop of Winona.

Winners of the Short Story category were:
First Place, "The Antebellum Willow" by Bishop and Second Place, "Six" by Poe.

The competition was open to all students on the Grenada Campus of Holmes, regardless of their major, and entries were judged by the English faculty members. First and second place winners in each category will appear in Reflections, the campus literary magazine, and are sent to the statewide contest. State-level winners receive monetary prizes and publication in the literary magazine of the Mississippi Community College Creative Writing Association.
