Grenada Campus recognizes students with hand-written letters The Holmes Grenada Campus recognized students' honors by having instructors write letters to the award recipients explaining why they were chosen. The Holmes Community College Grenada Campus recognized its students' achievements and honors a little differently this year. Rather than hold an on-campus celebration, instructors representing each academic and career-technical program wrote letters to the award recipients explaining why they were chosen. They mailed certificates to the students, as well.
Letters/certificates were sent to the 2020 Grenada Campus Hall of Fame inductees. Hall of Fame is the highest honor a student can receive and recipients were voted on by faculty and staff based on academic achievement, campus involvement and community service. The inductees included: Kalee Beck of Grenada, Raylin Cooper of Eupora, Ivey Devine of Winona, Bailey Marshall of Grenada and Lindsey McLellan of Winona. Devine was also named the Social Science Award winner.
Madison Shelton of Carrollton was recognized as the Associate Degree Nursing-Day Award recipient and Alisha Harrison of Mathiston was recognized as the Associate Degree Nursing-Evening Award recipient. Perry Doler of Calhoun City received the Business Administration, Computer Science and Spanish awards; Alexis Rodgers of Winona, the English Award; JaMario Profit of Coffeeville, the Life and Learning Skills Award; Jordan Bishop of Winona, the Fine Arts Award and Cislee Trost of Grenada, the Mathematics Award.
The Biology and Chemistry awards went to Addison Suber of Grenada; the Health and Physical Education Award went to Angelo Migliore of Kilmichael; the History Award went to Colby Marlow of Carrollton and the Speech and Theatre Award, to Robyn Galvan of Holcomb.
In the Career-Technical Educational Department, Eva Carroll of Holcomb received the Business Technology Award; Emily Ann Farmer of Grenada, the EMS Basic Award; Lola Green of Duck Hill, the EMS – Paramedic Award; Michael Petermann of Carrolton, the Engineering Technology Award; Jacob Whatley of Florence, the Forestry Technology Award and Payten Chrestman of Calhoun City, the Conservation Law Enforcement Technology Award.
Justin Durham of Grenada received the Heating, Ventilation, AC & Refrigeration Technology Award; Codie McMahan of Grenada, the Industrial Maintenance Technology Award; Jessica Parker of Stewart, the Practical Nursing Award; J'Marcus Brooks of Columbus, the Physical Therapy Assistant Award and Erin Bell of Kosciusko, the Surgical Technology Award. Finally, Sara Rosa of Carrollton and Bradley Cooper of Stewart both received Welding & Cutting Technology Award.
