Haley DeNoon’s role at Holmes expands to include PR duties

Haley DeNoon, student activities director and recruiter for the Holmes Community College Grenada Campus, has recently added a new role to her job duties and will be working with the Communications Department. She will serve as the public relations specialist for the Grenada Campus, taking photographs and writing articles pertaining to the students, faculty and staff on that campus.

A Holmes alumna, DeNoon joined the college’s staff in August of 2019. In addition to her role as student activities coordinator and a recruiter, she is also the Grenada Campus Ambassador sponsor, Phi Theta Kappa honor society advisor and Student Government Association Sponsor. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a concentration in public relations from Mississippi State University as well as an Associate of Arts from Holmes. DeNoon is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Communication from Arizona State University’s online program.

On campus, she enjoys attending the Baptist Student Union’s weekly meetings, and off campus, DeNoon is a member of North Winona Baptist Church where she serves on the Children and Nursery committees. She is also vice president of the Junior Auxiliary of Winona, where she serves on the Public Relations Committee. Additionally, DeNoon is a member of the Visit Winona Beautification Committee and the Mississippi Tobacco Free Coalition of Montgomery, Webster and Choctaw counties.

DeNoon and her husband, Chase, have two sons: Jack (2) and Hank (8 months).

“Working at Holmes was a dream I had after attending as a student,” DeNoon said. “The atmosphere is so inviting; coworkers have become like family and I truly love coming to campus each day. I love getting to see students succeeding here and getting to play just a tiny role in that is very fulfilling.”
