Holmes celebrates Teacher Appreciation Week

Teacher Appreciation Week is May 6-10, and Holmes Community College’s administrative leaders have already begun to celebrate the faculty in various ways. On the Holmes Goodman Campus, the academic faculty were treated to a “Lunch and Learn.” It was held a little earlier this year, on Monday, April 29.

“We extend our deepest gratitude to the dedicated academic faculty who tirelessly impart knowledge, inspire curiosity and shape futures here on the Goodman Campus,” said Goodman Campus Academic Coordinator Wendy Grace. “Their unwavering commitment to our students and the pursuit of excellence is truly commendable. Their dedication does not go unnoticed, and we are profoundly grateful for the impact they make every day.”

On the Holmes Grenada Campus, there will be a “Teacher Appreciation Lunch and Learn,” for instructors, as well, on Thursday, May 2.

“Our instructors work so hard to not only educate our students but nurture them during this transitional time in life,” said Academic Coordinator Tina Garrett. “Every day should be Teacher Appreciation Day because we couldn’t function without our faculty.”

On the Holmes Ridgeland Campus, the Academic Office gave the teachers a little happy on April 30, thanking them for all of their hard work.

“Looking back over the College Headlines this morning, I was reminded of ALL the good that happens throughout the year with faculty and students,” said Dean of Academic Programs Dr. Tonya Lawrence. “This reminded me that from time to time I may be guilty of looking to tomorrow when I should definitely soak in today and the goodness it brings. Because I have the pleasure of conversing with faculty often, I get to ‘experience’ some of the goodness that comes out of their classrooms and/or advising sessions. Holmes has a wonderful set of faculty who understand Galatians 6:9, ‘Don’t become weary in doing good, for at the proper time you will reap a harvest…’. I am so thankful to work with such dedicated faculty who are willing to be one of the few ‘workers’ in a field (Luke 10:2) that so many aren’t willing to work.  #nofacultylikeHolmesfaculty.”
