Holmes Goodman Campus announces Homecoming Court

Holmes Community College recently announced members of the 2024 Homecoming Court.

The 2024-25 Homecoming Queen is Jakya Ellis of Kosciusko. Goodman Campus court members include Student Body Maid Janey Beth McRae of Winona, Sophomore Maid Savannah Fulgham of Kosciusko, Sophomore Maid La’Diamond Phillips of Lexington, Freshman Maid Paris “Abby” Crockett of Yazoo City and Freshman Maid Chasity Washington of Winona.

Jakya Ellis is the daughter of Moneke Ellis. She is a business administration major who plans to attend Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts in Austin, Texas. At Holmes, she is a member of the Holmes Connection! In her spare time, Ellis loves to bake and play outdoor sports.

Janey Beth McRae is the daughter of Amanda and Chris McRae. She is an elementary education major who is active on campus as an Ambassador, president of Phi Theta Kappa and as a member of Student Government Association. Off campus, McRae works at Hammonds Pharmacy & Gifts and babysits. She enjoys hanging out with family and friends, reading and singing at different events around Winona. McRae plans to become an elementary school teacher.

Savannah Fulgham is the daughter of Michele and Dale Fulgham. She is majoring in secondary education and plans to transfer to Mississippi State University where she will major in secondary education with an emphasis in mathematics. Fulgham has been a cheerleader at Holmes for two years and she works at cheer competitions in Mississippi and surrounding states. She is also a member of First Baptist Church in Kosciusko.

“I’m very thankful to be a part of the Homecoming Court and very thankful for the friendships I’ve made at Holmes,” Fulgham said.

La’Diamond Phillips is the daughter of Sherronda Phillips and Adrian Phillips. She is a business management technology major who would like to own her own business one day. Her favorite hobby is riding horses and she loves spending time with her family. Phillips is also a party host on the side and has had a passion for doing that for a long time.

Paris “Abby” Crockett is the daughter of Timika Crockett. She is pre-physical therapy major who is on the Holmes cheerleading team. Her hobbies include cheering, going out to eat and hanging out with her friends. Upon graduating from Holmes, she plans to continue her studies at the University of Southern Mississippi.

Chasity Washington is the daughter of Ashley Phillips and Cortez Washington. She is a pre-occupational therapy major who is active campus as a member of the choir and as a band manager. Off campus, she is a member of Abundant Life Temple of Faith.

The queen and her court will be presented during halftime of the Bulldogs’ Homecoming Game against East Mississippi Community College on Thursday, Oct. 31, in Goodman. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
