Holmes Grenada Campus announces Homecoming Maids

Holmes Community College recently announced members of the 2022 Homecoming Court.

Grenada Campus court members include: Student Body Maid Allie Williamson of Scobey, Sophomore Maid Karlee Luke of Eupora, Sophomore Maid Madison Odom of Kosciusko, Freshman Maid Ashlyn Gillespie of Greenwood and Freshman Maid Avery Grace Lowery of Winona.

Williamson, daughter of Audrey and Bart Williamson, is part of the Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program. She is vice president of the ADN Class of 2024 and a member of Phi Theta Kappa. She is a member of Zion Grove Church and in her free time, she hangs out with her boyfriend and studies. After graduating from Holmes, Williamson plans to obtain employment as a nurse at a medical spa or dermatology clinic. She will be escorted by Phillip Crawford of Grenada.

Karlee Luke, daughter of the late Stephanie McCool, is a pre-nursing major. She is active on campus as Phi Theta Kappa president, an Ambassador, a member of Student Government Association and as a member of Baptist Student Union. She was also the recipient of the Fine Arts Award her freshman year. Luke plans to enroll in the Holmes ADN program upon finishing her prerequisite classes.

Off campus, Luke is a member of Tomnolen Baptist Church, where she helps with Operation Christmas Child and the annual Hope Outdoors banquet each year. On the weekends, Luke serves as a waitress for a local restaurant in Tomnolen. In her free time, she enjoys going on vacation and spending time with family and friends. Luke will be escorted by Andy Cooper of Walthall.

Madison Odom, daughter of Melanie and Charles Odom, is in the ADN program where she serves as class president. After graduating, her plans are to become a pediatric nurse with hopes to specialize in pediatric oncology. Odom plans to further her education at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and obtain her bachelor’s, as well as her master’s, and become a nurse practitioner.

Odom is a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church where she serves in the choir and keeps the nursery. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and her fiancé, loving on her dog Sckamper, riding the four-wheeler, listening to music in the car and making memories with her nieces, Layla and Charlie. Odom will be escorted by Webb Roberts of Duck Hill.

Ashlyn Gillespie, daughter of Velvet and George Gillespie, is a pre-veterinary major. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Gillespie loves to spend most weekdays working and traveling with Pillow Academy’s volleyball team running stats and doing the books. Throughout the week, she works at Pillow Academy’s Homework Express with students 4K through 6ht grade. She also attends First Baptist Church of Greenwood. Upon graduating from Holmes, Gillespie plans to attend Mississippi State University where she will major in veterinary medical technology specializing in clinical medicine and infectious diseases. In the future, she hopes to run her own practice.  She will be escorted by Baker Avant of Carrollton.

Avery Lowery, daughter of Sheila and Steven Lowery, is a dental hygiene major. On campus, she is an Ambassador and a member of Phi Theta Kappa. Her hobbies include learning photography, hanging out with friends and family, going on vacations, shopping, painting and going to Starkville. Lowery also attends New Bethel Baptist Church. After graduating from Holmes, she plans to attend University of Mississippi Medical Center, earn a degree in dental hygiene, then further her education and study dentistry at UMMC. Lowery will be escorted by Eli Black of Grenada.

The queen and her court will be presented during halftime of the Bulldogs’ Homecoming Game against Southwest Mississippi Community College on Thursday, Oct. 27, in Goodman. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
