Holmes honors employees for years of service during Convocation 2026

GOODMAN, Miss. — Holmes Community College recognized faculty and staff members for their years of dedicated service during Convocation held Aug. 11 in the coliseum on the Goodman Campus.

The annual event welcomed employees from across the college’s campuses and centers as they prepared for the start of the academic year. In addition to receiving updates on college initiatives and goals for the upcoming year, employees celebrating service milestones were honored for their commitment to Holmes and its students.

The Holmes employees recognized for five years of service with the college included: Michelle Crawford, Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) instructor, Grenada; Tanya Crider, biological science (eLearning) instructor, Goodman; Sandy Digby, housekeeper, Goodman; Dr. Marty Eckelberry, psychology instructor, Goodman; Brittany Engle, student financial aid advisor, Goodman; Shalon Farris, director of eLearning, Goodman; Erica Fitzhugh, occupational therapy assistant program director/instructor, Ridgeland; Bryce Fleming, maintenance worker, Grenada; Kathie Flowers, maintenance worker, Ridgeland; Bridget Goodnight, head women’s basketball coach, Goodman; Lauree Harmon, security guard, Goodman; Aimee Kitching, sociology instructor, Grenada; Hal Merriman, police officer, Grenada; Jovonna Parker, career technical education counselor, Ridgeland; Sara Pollan, biological science instructor, Grenada; Danette Tannehill, ADN instructor, Ridgeland; Lacy Walker, ADN instructor, Grenada and Audrey Young, athletic trainer, Goodman.

The Holmes employees recognized for 10 years of service with the college were Dr. Sarah Clay, librarian, Ridgeland; Katherine Ellard, coordinator of alumni activities/public relations/grants, Goodman; Kim Fowler, administrative assistant for Attala Center and the vice president of workforce development, Goodman; Alfred Green, maintenance worker, Goodman; Ethel Moore, supervisor of custodial services, Goodman; Wesley Noble, head women’s soccer coach, Ridgeland; Crystal Tate, admissions representative, Goodman; Dr. Sandra Townes, ADN instructor, Grenada; Mallory Weeks, administrative assistant to the vice president of academic programs, Goodman and Stephanie Wood, multimedia specialist/web analyst, Ridgeland.

The Holmes employees recognized for 15 years of service with the college included: Cindy Bridges, ADN instructor, Ridgeland; Jodie Burchfield, mathematics instructor, Goodman; Dr. Antoine Gates, biological science instructor, Ridgeland; Amanda Jones, nurse navigator, Goodman; Dr. Kristy McClain, chemistry instructor, Grenada; Jeff Newsom, maintenance worker, Grenada; Jon Rost, mathematics instructor, Ridgeland; Dr. Amy Whittington, vice president of career technical education, Goodman and Cherrie Winter, ADN instructor, Grenada.

The Holmes employees recognized for 20 years of service with the college were Lisa Anglin, mathematics instructor, Ridgeland; Sonja Arnett, English instructor, Goodman; Dr. Stacey Coulter, English instructor, Ridgeland; Dr. Bronwyn Martin, vice president of the Ridgeland Campus, Ridgeland and Vincent Sutherland, maintenance worker, Ridgeland.

Finally, Tina Boyette, administrative assistant to the vice president of the Goodman Campus, Goodman, was recognized for 25 years of dedicated service to Holmes.
