Holmes’ Nikki Boutwell graduates from Mississippi Community College Leadership Academy

Nikki Merchant Boutwell, recruiting specialist on the Goodman Campus at Holmes Community College, was recognized May 5 as a graduate of
the Mississippi Community College Leadership Academy, a yearlong professional development program designed to prepare mid- and upper-level
administrators within Mississippi’s community college system for leadership roles. The graduation ceremony was held at Mississippi State
University.

In her role at Holmes, Boutwell supervises Ambassador student recruiters, teaches Leadership and Communication Skills courses and serves as
a liaison between business and industry leaders, recruiters and university admissions counselors. She also works closely with prospective students and campus partners to support recruitment and enrollment efforts on the Goodman
Campus.

Established in 2009, MCCLA is a selective leadership development program that equips participants with skills in strategic planning, communication, organizational leadership and policy understanding within Mississippi’s community college system. The program also emphasizes collaboration
and networking among administrators across the state. Boutwell is a 2017 graduate of Holmes, where she was active as a student ambassador and involved in a variety of campus leadership and service activities. She later earned a Bachelor of Science in public relations from Mississippi College in 2019, graduating cum laude.

Beyond her professional responsibilities, Boutwell is a life member of Junior Auxiliary of Yazoo City, where she recently completed her final active
year of service. She remains engaged in community service and values opportunities to give back through volunteer work. She resides in Satartia with her husband, Trent, and their dogs, Ellie and Finn.
