Holmes PN student’s social media post makes a big impact

Whitney Ulrich of Cleveland, a sophomore in the Hybrid Practical Nursing program on the Holmes Community College Grenada Campus, showed just how effective word-of-mouth (or sharing-of-post rather!) really is. She shared what she believed to be a simple post that gave information about the Holmes program and it has been shared 855 times.

In her post, Ulrich said, “I’ve had so many people ask about the program I’m in at Holmes Community College and they are now accepting applications for the next hybrid LPN program until April 30th! Their next round of applicants won’t be until 2024. No TEAs test, sciences (A&P, micro) don’t expire, and the program is almost completely online. I’ve worked full time throughout the entire program. #TheMoreYouKnow.”

As a thank you, Holmes President Dr. Jim Haffey and Director of Health Science Programs Ginger Meriwether presented Ulrich with a Holmes cooler on Jan. 26.

“I went in to test today and Holmes had a surprise for me!” Ulrich said. “Apparently they have been flooded with potential students interested in the hybrid LPN program stemming from my post this past weekend! I thought that was so sweet of them.”

Holmes is grateful for dedicated students like Ulrich who let others know about the great things going on at Holmes. The college is proud to call her a Bulldog!
