RIDGELAND, Miss. — Holmes Community College is joining Madison County in recognizing May 11-15, 2026, as Law Enforcement Appreciation Week, honoring the dedication and service of local law enforcement officers who work daily to protect and serve the community.
The Madison County Board of Supervisors recently passed a resolution declaring the week in appreciation of officers’ commitment to public safety throughout the county.
As part of the observance, Holmes Community College Ridgeland Campus presented local officers with a thank-you basket this week as a gesture of gratitude for their continued service and support of the campus community.
Community members across Madison County are encouraged to participate in several initiatives throughout the week, including Wear Blue Day on Wednesday, May 13, to show support for law enforcement officers. Citizens are also encouraged to participate in the Blue Ribbon Campaign by displaying blue ribbons on mailboxes, businesses and homes.
Additional activities include the Law Enforcement Appreciation Luncheon scheduled for noon Wednesday, May 13, at the Madison County Sheriff’s Department.
Residents are also encouraged to send notes or letters of appreciation to local law enforcement agencies or share messages of support on social media throughout the week.
Holmes Community College expressed appreciation for the officers who help maintain safety and security on the Ridgeland Campus and throughout the surrounding communities.
