Holmes to host HVAC I and II workforce training beginning Aug. 10

RIDGELAND — Registration is now open for Holmes Community College’s HVAC I and II workforce training course, which will be held Aug. 10 through Sept. 17 on the Ridgeland Campus.

Classes will meet Monday through Thursday from 4-7:30 p.m. in the McGowan Workforce Training Center. The course registration fee is $125.

The HVAC I and II course is designed to help participants build the skills and knowledge needed to work with heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. The hands-on training explores the core components of refrigeration systems while providing an understanding of how HVAC systems operate in real-world applications.

Course topics include refrigerant handling safety, refrigerant and oil compatibility, charging and recovering refrigerants, legal requirements for handling refrigerants, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Section 608 certification test preparation and test proctoring.

The $125 registration fee will be waived for participants enrolled by a WIN Job Center career coach or a Holmes Community College GED instructor.

Class size is limited, and registration is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The registration deadline is noon on Aug. 5.
