Holmes welcomes Michael Hood to Ridgeland Campus maintenance staff

RIDGELAND, Miss. — Holmes Community College recently welcomed Michael Hood to its Ridgeland Campus staff as a member of the maintenance department.

Hood is a graduate of Grenada High School and attended Holmes in Goodman, where he studied HVAC technology. While at Holmes, he earned the HVAC Technology Award and placed second in the state HVAC competition.

Before joining Holmes, Hood worked at Herrin Gear Lexus and Lakeland Body Shop.

Hood is a member of Phi Theta Kappa. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his 6-year-old twins, “doing whatever they tell me to,” as well as voiding warranties and procrastinating.

Hood said he has enjoyed his first few months at Holmes and appreciates the warm welcome he has received from the college community.

“I’ve been here a little over three months, and it’s been really great,” Hood said. “I want to thank y’all for being so welcoming and accommodating. I think I’ve found my place.”

Holmes is pleased to have Hood as part of the Ridgeland Campus maintenance team.
