Holmes welcomes Michelle Donovan as administrative assistant for ADN Program
RIDGELAND, Miss. — Holmes Community College has hired Michelle Donovan as administrative assistant for the Associate Degree Nursing program at its Ridgeland Campus, effective 2026.
The ADN program prepares students to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) and pursue careers as registered nurses. In her new role, Donovan will provide administrative support to faculty and students within the department.
Donovan brings nearly three decades of administrative and healthcare-related experience to the position. She worked two years as a ward clerk in oncology at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, then spent nine years as administrative assistant to the hospital administrator at Community Hospital of Calhoun County. She later worked 15 years at Bruce Telephone Company in Bruce, where she managed billing and employee insurance matters, and most recently served as a customer service representative for Farm Bureau Insurance in Madison.
Donovan said the appointment marks a homecoming of sorts. All four of her children attended Holmes’ Ridgeland Campus between 2009 and 2022, and her oldest daughter met her husband while a student there.
“Holmes was my home away from home before I was fortunate to find employment here,” Donovan said. “I am so excited to not only be a part of Holmes but thrilled to be part of the CTE program and the ADN department.”
Donovan is a 1985 graduate of Bruce High School. In 2004, she was named Parent of the Year at Bruce Elementary School. She is a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church in Madison and enjoys seasonal home decorating, cooking and baking.
She and her husband, David Donovan, have four children: Morgan, Brennan, Ashton and Anniston, as well as a son-in-law, Alex. The couple has three grandchildren: Cohen, Cole and Callen.
