Horizons places third in state yearbook competition
The Holmes Community College Horizons yearbook placed third in the 2017-18 Mississippi Community and Junior College Press Association yearbook competition. The yearbooks were judged on seven categories including cover, theme, structure, typography, design, copy and photography.
This year, the theme was "No Place like Holmes." Horizons tied with Southwest Community College and Itawamba Community College for first place in the cover category and copy category. Horizons also took first place in design. Additionally, the yearbook placed second in the theme category, third in structure, third in photography and sixth in typography.
The yearbook was led by editors Stephanie Wood of Brandon and Eryca Edwards of Lexington and advised by Public Relations Specialist/Publications Coordinator Mary Margaret Busby.
The other 2017-18 Horizons staff members included: Joshua Gafford of Grenada, Emma Kate Gibson of Gore Springs, Cayla Holloway of Pickens, Laura Ann Kelley of Madison, Nykeem Liddell of Camden, Celeste Morrow of Ridgeland, Jesse Qualls of Learned, Anna Grace Rogers of Grenada, Kanisha Wade of Ridgeland, Megan Wilson of Brandon and Matthew Wolak of Brandon.
