Jill Sowell joins Holmes family as a graphic designer

Jill Sowell joined the Holmes Community College marketing department as a graphic designer. She works from the Ridgeland Campus.

Sowell comes to Holmes after working as a designer for Hederman Brothers for nearly 10 years. A graduate of Mississippi State University, she began working at Hederman Brothers immediately following college graduation.

Sowell attends Broadmoor Baptist Church in Madison, and she helped with Vacation Bible School (VBS) set decorations at her childhood church for many years, as well. She also enjoys trying out new crafting hobbies, sewing, painting, simple wood-work and anything she can do with a hot glue gun.

The daughter of Jackie and Terry Sowell of Canton, she has two siblings, Jon and Casey, and their spouses, who are like siblings to her. Sowell also has four nieces who she is constantly fixing doll dresses for and drawing cartoon characters with. She grew up on the family farm in Canton and built her house on the land a few years ago. She lives on the farm with her two dogs who bark at cows all day long.

“I attended Holmes the summer after graduating high school in 2008, and I am very excited to come back to such a relaxed atmosphere where everyone has always been so welcoming,” Sowell said.
