Kelly named new director of housing for Holmes

Robert Jason Kelly has been named Holmes Community College’s new director of housing. For the past nine years, Kelly has taught history and political science on the Holmes Goodman Campus. Additionally, he has served as director for Fellowship of Christian Athletes and as an advisor for the Kappa Alpha Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa. In 2018, he was named the Horizon Award Winner for Outstanding Academic Advisor during the annual Phi Theta Kappa conference.

Overall, Kelly has 20 years working in education. Prior to Holmes, he worked at Carroll Academy, serving as a history and English instructor, assistant principal, head high school boys basketball coach, head J.V. boys basketball coach, assistant football coach and athletic director. He worked for William Sullivan High School in Durant, as well.

An alumnus of Mississippi State University, he holds several degrees from MSU including a bachelor’s degree in history, a bachelor’s in English and a master’s in European/United States history. Additionally, he has an educational specialist degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of Mississippi and will graduate with a doctorate in educational leadership from MSU this year.

Kelly lives in Carrolton with his wife of 15 years, Dusti, and their three sons: Brayden, Brennan and Brighton.
