Katherine Ellard

Brief info

Katherine H. Ellard is a public relations specialist for the Holmes Community College Goodman and Grenada campuses. She holds a B.A. in Communications from Mississippi State University, and as a public relations specialist, writes feature stories (on students, faculty and alumni) and creates press releases about the college happenings.

Ellard joined the Holmes team in 2016. She is passionate and creative which brings a lot of energy to the communication team. She has veteran experience in coordinating publications, organizing newsletter content and driving creating ways to communicate events.

Prior to coming to Holmes, Ellard worked in the outdoor industry for 10 plus years. Her expertise was in international travel operations where she collaborated with management, onsite lodging staff and tourism teams to achieve the ultimate client experiences. She was responsible for multiple state-side and international operation details including marketing and public relations coordination. Some of the groups she worked with included Sports Classics, Shooting Sportsman, Garden & Gun, Beretta and Eddie Bauer.

Ellard also serves as Alumni Coordinator at Holmes, where she brings her expertise in client relations to the Holmes Alumni experience. Paw Prints is the award-winning publication for the Alumni Association that Ellard oversees along with helping coordinate the annual Foundation Report the Holmes Development Foundation publishes.

She and her husband, Sam, have two children: Laura Steele and Blake.
