Wendy V. Jones joins the Holmes Community College family as a campus police on the Grenada Campus.

Jones holds a Master of Science in special education from Grand Canyon University, a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice from Mississippi Valley State University and an Associate of Arts in criminal justice from Coahoma Community College. She is a Charleston High School graduate as well.

Prior to Holmes, Jones served with the Charleston Police Department and the Tutwiler Police Department. She brings over 30 years of experience with her to Holmes.

When asked what appealed to her about Holmes, she reflects on a conversation between she and ADN Instructor Dr. Arletha Coffey. “Arletha spoke so highly of Holmes and the environment, I knew I would love it”, Jones said.

Jones is the daughter of the late Almer Hampton. She has one daughter, Ukari Pimpton, and she is one of seven children.
In addition to her dedication to the college, Jones is a member of Table of Life Ministries. She enjoys working in her yard to grow new flowers, word games and reading.

“I love working with the friendly faculty and staff. I have enjoyed working with Dr, Burney, Chief Tyler Winter and Officer Hal Merriman, they are a true gift”, Jones said. “I have loved meeting and talking with our students and I see why everyone says There is No Place Like Holmes”.
