Brief info

Mary Margaret Busby is a public relations specialist for Holmes Community College. Housed on the Ridgeland Campus, she is primarily in charge of PR for Holmes’ Ridgeland and Yazoo City locations, but assists with communications-related duties district-wide as needed. She also advises the Growl student newspaper and the Horizons yearbook; teaches News Writing and Reporting online and serves as an academic advisor for mass communications/journalism majors.

Busby joined the Holmes family in 2014. Prior to Holmes, she worked in PR and taught public speaking for William Carey University in her hometown Hattiesburg. Busby earned the Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) in 2015, a master’s degree in public relations from The University of Southern Mississippi in 2009 and a bachelor’s in journalism from the University of Mississippi in 2008. She also graduated from the Area Development Partnership Pinebelt Leadership Class in 2014.

Outside of Holmes, she is a certified personal trainer who coaches fitness classes at Get Fit Studio in Flowood. Busby is also president of the Public Relations Association of Mississippi (PRAM) Central Chapter, a member of the College Public Relations Association of Mississippi (CPRAM) and a member of the Southern Public Relations Federation (SPRF).

She and her husband Ross reside in Brandon with their two fur babies, Ruger and Delta, and are expecting their first child in December.
