Educators needing CEUs can take tuition-free class

Educators needing CEUs can take tuition-free class If you are a Mississippi educator and are in need of Continuing Education Units (CEUs), Holmes Community College is offering a tuition-free class during the second summer term (July 6-July 30) to receive 4.5 CEUs.

The College is offering Digital Teaching and Learning (BOT 1763 Communication Essentials) which allows students in the class the opportunity to learn how to communicate with students online and navigate Canvas to successfully build classes that are engaging through the use of several media methods. This course also focuses on the skills necessary to be successful and effective in the workplace.

In addition to effectively contributing to a team while working with a diverse population, topics include: customer service and business etiquette, understanding human behavior, personal qualities of success, emotional intelligence, communication, workplace etiquette, conflict resolution, self-esteem, and goal setting.

"Engaging students in a digital age can be challenging," Vice President for Academic Programs Dr. Jenny Jones said. "Holmes is fortunate to have an outstanding eLearning staff who want to assist our K-12 partners in becoming more familiar with online best practices and tools."

Upon completion of the course, teachers will receive college credit and are also eligible to receive 4.5 CEUs for a $25 CEU certification fee.

To register for the class, go to holmescc.edu and click on the Enroll Now tab. You'll need to fill out an enrollment application, and you will be asked to submit a high school or college transcript for admission purposes.
