Holmes Community College PTK Chapters Honored at National Convention

Advisors and officers from Holmes Community College’s Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) chapters from each of our campuses recently attended PTK Catalyst, the society’s annual international convention, where they celebrated a series of significant achievements and immersed themselves in leadership, education, and networking opportunities.

Held in a different city each year, PTK Catalyst is a three-day event that brings together students and advisors from across the globe. The convention features dynamic guest speakers, educational forums, college and career fairs, and the prestigious Hallmark Awards Gala. Attendees have the opportunity to connect with fellow students, meet potential employers, and speak directly with university transfer representatives from institutions nationwide.

Holmes Community College was recognized during the Hallmark Awards Gala for several exceptional accomplishments:
• Top 100 Most Distinguished Chapter: Grenada and Ridgeland campuses
• Top 50 Most Distinguished Honors in Action Project: Ridgeland campus
• Distinguished Theme Award in Honors in Action: Ridgeland campus
• Most Distinguished Advisor Award: Lisa Anglin

These accolades reflect the dedication and excellence of Holmes students and faculty advisors, especially in the areas of academic research, leadership, and service.

Phi Theta Kappa, the official honor society for two-year colleges, has recognized academic excellence since 1918 and is supported by the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC). With nearly 1,250 chapters across 11 nations and more than 4.3 million members inducted since its founding, PTK provides its 230,000 active members with life-changing access to scholarships, leadership development, and academic support.

Holmes Community College’s outstanding showing at PTK Catalyst is a testament to the hard work and commitment of its PTK members and advisors, and further highlights the transformative impact of the organization on student success.
