RIDGELAND, Miss. — Fifteen students officially entered the nursing profession when the Holmes Community College Ridgeland Campus Practical Nursing Evening and Weekend Program held its pinning ceremony Thursday, Dec. 11, at 10 a.m. in the McGowan Workforce Training Center.
The Ridgeland Evening Program Practical Nursing Class of 2025 included Alishia Harmon of Crystal Springs, class secretary; Koality Naylor of Jackson; Jamonika O. Bacon of Jackson; Ariel R. James of Jackson; Latavia Pendleton of Hazlehurst; Anasia Williams of Jackson; Jasmine D. Edwards of Madison, class treasurer; Jessica L. Smith of Coffeeville; Leah M. Miller of Madison; Cabrini C. Cooper of Jackson, class vice president; Corneisha A. McDonald of Brandon; Donnisha A. Jackson of McComb; Alura C. Mack of Florence, class president; Cherica L. Bouldin of Madison; and Melissa D. Patten of Pearl.
Harmon also gave remarks on behalf of the graduating class. Miller was recognized as class salutatorian, while Edwards was named class valedictorian and received the Achievement Award. Williams and Naylor were also recognized for graduating with honors, earning a 90 or above average.
The ceremony marked the successful completion of the demanding program, preparing the graduates for the next steps in their medical careers. The class was guided by instructors Mary Clayton Belk, Dr. Christi Blair and Candice Buchanan.
