Holmes to host Amazon Web Services workforce training program in June

RIDGELAND, Miss. — Holmes Community College will host the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Information Infrastructure Pre-Apprenticeship (I2PA) program in June, offering eligible participants an opportunity to gain workforce training and industry-relevant skills.

The four-week program is scheduled for June 1–26 and will meet Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Holmes Ridgeland Campus. Due to the accelerated nature of the program and the volume of material covered, daily attendance is required, and participants must provide their own transportation.

“I2PA is a great opportunity for recent high school graduates as well as adults who want to learn new skills,” said Workforce Development Coordinator Angie Williams. “Participants will be exposed to the different kinds of work that go into building and maintaining data centers and given opportunities to network with professionals working in the field.”

The application period is open through April 24. To be eligible, applicants must be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent. All applicants will be screened, and final selections will be made at the discretion of Holmes Community College. Submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance into the program.

Participants in the program will receive a stipend of $10 per hour. The AWS I2PA program is designed to prepare individuals for careers in information infrastructure by providing foundational training and hands-on experience.
