PTK Alpha Mu Beta Chapter Completes College Project to Enhance Student Services on Grenada Campus

The Phi Theta Kappa Alpha Mu Beta Chapter on the Grenada Campus recently completed its College Project, aimed at improving the campus environment through the installation of a micro market in the student lounge.

A College Project is a joint initiative between a Phi Theta Kappa chapter and college administration that supports the institution’s mission and strategic priorities while creating positive change on campus. This project aligned with the college’s commitment to providing an accessible, student-centered, and supportive learning environment.

The project was led by PTK President Lexi McClain, Vice Presidents William Hobson and Katie Grace Ray, along with advisors Cynthia Abel, Gabrielle Hopkins, and Haley DeNoon. Chapter members collaborated closely with campus leadership and multiple departments, including administration, campus police, maintenance, and information technology, to bring the project to completion.

The newly installed micro market provides expanded food and beverage options for students and employees, including healthier choices and added convenience. The market features drink coolers, snack units, refrigerator, a coffee station, and a self-checkout kiosk.

In addition to enhancing campus services, the project strengthened relationships between the chapter and college administration while helping members develop leadership, communication, collaboration, and professional skills. The micro market represents a lasting improvement to the student lounge and reflects the chapter’s commitment to serving the campus community.
